How to Cook Pork Leg | How to Make Pig Feet with Sweet ‘n Spicy Barbecue Sauce [Video]

Have you ever tried to make or eat pig feet with barbecue sauce?

Let me tell you.

I have never made or ate this type of dish before.  Another day, I stopped at the store and saw they were selling pig feet at the price of $1.29 per pound, so I got two packages home, but I didn’t have a clue what I would do with them.  At first, I came up with the thought of cooking them with soy sauce, but I just realized that I don’t have enough soy sauce to cook them.  Then and then, suddenly, I came up with an idea to cook them with barbecue sauce after seeing two bottles of sauces which I bought months ago as Buy-1, Get-1…

Finally, I cooked them with barbecue sauce.  Turns out, they were not bad.  At some points, I thought they were yummy too.

If anyone does not hesitate about eating animal leg/pork leg/pig feet, then try them.  Oh, I think you need to make your own because I don’t think there is anywhere on earth selling them.  I guess so, but for sure, the chance is really rare, especially in the US.

Here is what you need to have to make this type of special dish; actually, it’s very special.  You need to have pig feet, barbecue sauce, salt, water and vinegar.

In the video, I used 2 packages of cut-up pig feet (3.57 lbs. + 3.41 lbs. / $4.61 + $4.40), 1 bottle of barbecue sauce Baby Ray’s Gourmet Sauces Sweet ‘n Spicy Barbecue Sauce 28 oz ($2) and salt.

Also, there is another tip for those people who do not like to use their hands to wash the meat.  I just came up with the idea recently because I don’t like to put my hands in the water during the wintertime.  [This year’s winter weather is so cold.]  Don’t worry, it’s not too much work, instead it’s so convenient.  You just bring some water to boil in a large/big saucepan or pot.  Don’t forget to add some vinegar and salt while heating the water.  When the water boils, add all pig legs in.  While waiting for the water to boil again, stir or lift the pig feet very often.  Keep boiling them a little bit, just a little bit, not too long.  If you keep too long, it turns out you cook them instead of blanching.

The total cost of ingredients to have this dish is $11 USD.

In my opinion: If you don’t like it too sweet, use half a bottle of barbecue sauce only or double the amount of pig feet.

Have fun!
